The architectural team's priority for Akbank's headquarters renovation was clear from the outset: the floor would carry the corporate identity. The bank's black-and-white colour palette needed to be expressed in the floor material — and the high-maintenance nature of natural stone at this scale was unacceptable.
Bomanite Türkiye proposed the Patene Teres Custom Polishing system. The existing structural concrete slab was processed through sequential dry-diamond grinding passes. Integral pigment application gave the floor a three-tone grey scale — a palette that directly matched Akbank's corporate colour guidelines. The final grinding pass produced a mirror-reflective finish that reflects the office lighting above.
The 3,200 m² result is a floor used by over 2,400 staff daily. An independent surface assessment two years later showed gloss value had declined only 4% from the handover-day reading — significantly ahead of expectations.
