About the System

Micro Top is a paper-thin (1–3 mm) cementitious topping applied by trowel. It bonds to virtually any substrate — concrete, timber, metal, tile, plaster and asphalt — with no floor build-up or removal required.
Going far beyond chemical stains, Micro Top supports unlimited graphics, corporate logos, swirls and marbleized effects. Bomanite Tint Packs extend the palette beyond the 16 standard colours. Used in projects ranging from commercial showrooms and luxury residences to museums and hotels.

The Process
How It Works

Surface Preparation
The existing surface is mechanically cleaned, defects addressed, and a bond-enhancing primer is applied.

Base Coat
The first Micro Top layer is trowel-applied in a thin, even coat and smoothed to a flat plane.

Colour & Design
Pigments, Tint Packs or custom graphics are applied over the second coat to realise the design.
04
Sanding
After curing, the surface is lightly sanded to the desired texture level — silky smooth to slightly tactile.
05
Curing
The surface cures for 24–48 hours depending on ambient conditions before topcoat.
06
Protective Topcoat
A UV-resistant polyurethane or epoxy topcoat permanently protects colour and design.
