About the System

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber surfacing delivers shock-absorbing safety surfaces that meet the international EN 1177 standard for children's play areas. Applied at 15–25 mm thickness, the system is engineered to the required critical fall height.
Its seamless construction provides a hygienic surface resistant to bacterial build-up, while built-in drainage prevents water ponding. With 20+ standard colours and limitless design patterns, stimulating and safe play environments can be created for all age groups.

The Process
How It Works
01
Surface Preparation
The substrate is cleaned, falls are checked and a suitable base prepared for drainage. An asphalt or concrete sub-base is required.

EPDM Base Layer
A base layer of recycled rubber granules is applied to create the shock-absorbing mass. Thickness is calculated based on the critical fall height.

EPDM Wearing Layer
Coloured EPDM granules in the chosen colour are mixed with polyurethane binder and applied as the wearing layer, creating a smooth, hygienic surface.
04
Pattern & Markings
Design patterns, logos or play area markings are created by integrating different coloured EPDM granules into the same application process.
