KidZania Istanbul: 7,500 m² of Bomanite Imprint for a Children's Experience City

KidZania's architectural concept requires creating an indoor environment where children feel as if they are living in a real city. Floor surfaces with cobblestone and paving textures form the foundation of this illusion — but they need to exist in a surface that thousands of children run across every day.

Bomanite Imprint Systems offered the ideal solution for this project. Large-format cobblestone and granite block stamps were applied to a monolithic concrete slab built for heavy traffic. Integral colouring provided a permanent colour depth with no risk of wear or fading. The surface was hardened and sealed to withstand both the intense mechanical load of children's activities and regular soap-and-detergent cleaning.

The 7,500 m² has welcomed over 4 million visitors since KidZania Istanbul opened. The floor retains its original appearance and is not yet on the schedule for its first major maintenance renewal.
