KidZania Istanbul

KidZania Istanbul is one of the flagship installations in Bomanite Türkiye's commercial portfolio — a 2,500 m² Stamped Concrete and Thinset installation across one of the world's fastest-growing edutainment brands. Located at Akasya Shopping Mall in Üsküdar, Istanbul, this indoor family entertainment center spans 10,000 m² and hosts over 120 role-play professions for children aged 1–14, with more than 20 million guests received globally.

The Bomanite system was originally specified through Kidzania's global partnership with Bomanite Mexico, who had installed the system in KidZania's first location and continued the standard for every subsequent opening worldwide. This global synergy meant Bomanite Türkiye had access to customised design tools and pattern matrices developed specifically for KidZania's urban streetscape aesthetic.

The project presented unique technical challenges. KidZania Istanbul sits at +18 metres above street level inside the mall, making standard concrete pumping impossible. Bomanite Türkiye worked with the contractor to install dedicated pipe runs to pump the Bomanite mix concrete to the required height. The elevated pour required additives that affected workability — the mix dried rapidly, causing localised cracking and levelling issues in areas. The team broke out and re-poured affected sections to achieve the required finish standard. Drainage coordination was also required after contractor drains were found to be non-functional in this indoor environment.

Bomanite Southeast Asia contributed additional specialist manpower to ensure project delivery. Upon opening, KidZania Türkiye management commended Bomanite's work and expressed interest in partnering again for future KidZania locations in Turkey.
